@ Kysse,

when you say this

Quote:
It's about knowing your authority in God,having faith and knowing scripture inside out.

What do you mean by 'Knowing your authority in God' ?

Sola Scriptura

im trying to make a point here, and the point is this. Scripture is abundantly clear on all issues including dealing with the devil.
The only scripture with an explicit 'to do' instruction with regard to a christian and the devil says thus 'resist the devil, and he will flee from you'.
Knowing scripture inside out amounts to nothing without obedience.

Sure, but there's a reason why the scripture has this portion' Howbeit this lineage of demons does not go out but by prayer and fasting.'

There's another 'resist all appearances of evil'

Corruption is evil and all if not most find it hard to resist with all the troubles sorrounding. Mehn some evil is justifiable hadi unatell God' I have stolen yeah but my only kid is lying in icu and I don't have money.Your word says' come let us reason together'.. Can we reason God? pleease?

Take the eg of patient/doc.
The patient does his best to keep sicknesses at bay,but he can slack and fall sick. What happen's thereafter?remedy?
Same case with us.Deliverance comes in handy after dancing with the devil for long, over and over until he makes your soul his temporary habitat.

To know your place in God,as a believer.Knowing that you are an extension of His Kingdom.
You become conscious of his power, presence and work, which in turns gives you confidence to do his will.

@Kysse.. where do i begin?

The apostle Paul said this of himself, that Christ came and died for sinners of whom he is chief. i.e the chief of sinners. That was Pauls honest assessment of his spiritual condition at the zenith of his walk with God.(1st Timothy 1:15 pls read the whole book)

From the text in 1st Timothy..

Tell me Kysse what was his "Place in God as a believer"

After his conversion he became a priest/heir with all rights to the throne.
That's how believers are supposed to live.
There is no barrier btwn them and God,neither do they need a high priest to access the Throne.
Think of him as a priest after conversion.

What was Paul's 'Authority in God's Kingdom ?
sounds better..
No change in meaning though cz e became a partaker of God's promises and exercised spiritual authority as a believer.

ok I don't fancy theology,let me rest.smile

aaah..
So the reason the devil has not been bound permanently is that no one is good enough to do it!

So all the 'we take authority and bind you in the mirry naime of Shhheeesus' is a game of chance.. One day someone 'good enough' will shout forth those words and rid the earth of the devil!
Hurrah!!

Tungoje hio siku au vipi @mukiri ?

While we wait we may as well add this new revelation to scripture!

1. The devil roamed in times past. ☑
2. Many have tried binding and chasing him. ☑
a) Hinn, ☑
b) Warren, ☑
c) Bonnke, ☑
d) Owuor, ☑
e) Lai, ☑
f) etc. ☑
3. Yet the devil still roams today in the face of all the pata potea binding and chasing is still going on. ☑

4. Meanwhile, those who know and obey the instructions will not be playing this pata potea. ☑
5. Hence no 3 above will continue.☑

Evidence all around - calamities, fatalities, sickness etc shout to all who would care to hear and listen that all the bindings and chasings are ineffective, so something is definitely wrong, contradictory with this whole set up.

Its always a pleasure to be reminded about the instructions and about obedience.

Ditto @kysse Applause
It's not enough to just rhetoric and not reflect same on the outside.

GIVING THANKS

Today, more than ever is about thanksgiving, if for nothing more than the fact yo are alive.

1 Chronicles 29:13
13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

Nehemiah 12:46-47
For long ago, in the days of David and Asaph, there had been directors for the singers and for the songs of praise and thanksgiving to God. So in the days of Zerubbabel and of Nehemiah, all Israel contributed the daily portions for the singers and gatekeepers. They also set aside the portion for the other Levites, and the Levites set aside the portion for the descendants of Aaron.

Psalm 28:7
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Psalm 69:30
30 I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

Psalm 95:2
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

Psalm 100:4 (#5 of 20 Bible Verses About Thanksgiving and Giving Thanks)

Psalm 118:28
28 You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you.

Psalm 147:7
7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp.

Mark 6:41-43
41 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate and were satisfied, 43 and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish.

1 Corinthians 1:4
I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15:57
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 2:14
14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

2 Corinthians 4:14-16
14...because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day

2 Corinthians 9:10-11
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

Ephesians 5:19-21
19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Philippians 1:3
3 I thank my God every time I remember you.

Philippians 4:6
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 4:4-5
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

1 Chronicles 16:34
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Proverbs 19:21
