I dont know who is worse:
1. the devil who keeps getting away every time he is 'bound' and 'chased away', or
2. the people who do the 'binding' and 'chasing'.
Could be both.

Could be both. Could be... and it might warrant a better man to pray and maybe do something about it. You perhaps? And if not you, then I call upon any such man of God.

Could be both. What do you mean by 'the devil getting away? when he's simply accomplishing his job description of 'seeking whom to devour'.He's the master of that and he's within his boundaries. Those who bind do so because they have been given authority by the Word=God=Life=Power. The devil can distinguish a God fearing man from a joker.He doesn't departs when a joker calls him out.Infact What he does is to entertain you like we see on pulpits;women rolling,jumping,doing all manner of gymnastics and we go like yeah! toka,shindwa,tapika,nyongwa,kamata,kimbia,toroka,teke.smh Ignorance of the word. NOTE: For those who don't have a copy, it speaks about Lot (peace be upon him), and his two daughters, night after night they seduce their father, and have sex with him, and they beget bastards children

Lol. The 7 sons of Sceva!
They got such a beating for sure. But they havent learnt till today. They keeps binding the devil and the devil keeps coming (with quotes) and beat them up. And they cannot give a response.

smh... Even Jesus Christ, our Saviour was called names. Still is. I always try to prevail upon those who try to bring down others and ask, 'Can you do a better job?' If so, please do it  @Alpha... If you are looking for passages and stories to criticize in the Bible, you will get so many of them. Heck, you don't even need to open the Holy Book, look around you, calamities, fatalities etc Such even happen to your Muslim brothers. I may not have your answers but there is One who does. You know whom He is

aaah.. So the reason the devil has not been bound permanently is that no one is good enough to do it! So all the 'we take authority and bind you in the mirry naime of Shhheeesus' is a game of chance.. One day someone 'good enough' will shout forth those words and rid the earth of the devil! Hurrah!!  I'm guessing if Jesus Christ didn't do it, then it can't be done. Many a time I've asked why God can't just do away with ndeffo... He has His reason. But we can chase him or keep him at bay for a while, no? Atleast in Wazua And boss, still want to hear your Patch Christian experiences.

No,that's heresy.
The devil continous with his activities on earth until after the great tribulation period when he will be eternally bound and thrown into the bottomless pit.
The example on sceva's sons was to do with actual day to day deliverance.

It's not about being 'good enough' cz goodness is not judged by works-filthy rags in God's eyes.
It's about knowing your authority in God,having faith and knowing scripture inside out.
The devil knows scriptures and used it to tempt Jesus in the desert. Now imagine a scripture deficient fellow.He will be stripped naked and beaten like the sons of sceva.
We see pastors getting embarrased everyday on media and wonder why.It's cz the devil knows that they are jokers and tries hard to embarrass them.
The media exposure is a kind of modern day beating.
Bible is the masterguide.

@ kysse im trying to make a point here, and the point is this. Scripture is abundantly clear on all issues including dealing with the devil. The only scripture with an explicit 'to do' instruction with regard to a christian and the devil says thus 'resist the devil, and he will flee from you'. Knowing scripture inside out amounts to nothing without obedience.
