I think if a friend is milking it because you've been away for long thats called "taking care of the cow." It's called "taking care" because your friend probably do not want to steal your cow, he just want some milk and as you know, cows need to be milk regularly for their own comfort.

Infact your friend/neighbor could be milking your cow even if you're around, especially if you're not milking it right. When you milk a cow sometimes it take time for it to get to that level where the milk is flowing smoothly, some people just don't let the cow get there...... they milk it a little then they leave it thinking thats the most milk they can get! Thats not good, you got to make sure you milk it dry, otherwise your neighbor will milk it.

A big question!

When one wants to milk a cow there is a certain procedure to be followed..

1. Warm the clean water in a clean sufuria and empty it into a thermos flask (very important step).

2. Take your milking can, jerry, and the warm water in the flask to the milking shed.

3. Pour some dairy meal or bran mixed with mineral salts into the feed container attached to the milking shed.

4. Get the cow to the shed and tie its hind legs with a strong rope.

5. Squat next to the udder, pour some water from the flask into a small wide mouthed container.

6. Clean the udder teats one by one with a clean cotton cloth soaked in the warm water.

7. Apply the milking jerry to the teats one by one until they are sufficiently soft (Very important step).

8. Get the milking can under the udder and start milking. Apply moderate pressure to the teats and don't pull them too hard so that the cow is fully relaxed. Be sure not to leave any milk in the udder when you are fully done (very important step).

9. After milking, keep the milk in a safe distance and untie the cow.

10. Leave the cow in the shed to continue feeding as you go to the milk store to store it or to process it.

What happens when a stranger or a neighbour takes someones cow for milking???? Does he/she follow the right procedure???

They even do it better. From the pastors clip, they start by pudding and finish with dessert!
