Is it justified?
If you believe Kenya Power's calculations, then yes. You don't expect to pay a lower connection fee than what Kenya Power will spend on poles, cables, meters, transformers [shared cost] etc. to get the electricity to your house!!! The only way you can argue with this if the cost is significantly less than the 75k on average [sparsely populated rural areas and densely populated urban areas]. It is more expensive to connect rural consumers because of the sparse population but you cannot charge them more than urban consumers hence the averaging!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
