Am sure most road users are happy that the guy does not cause Kibaki type jams everyday!

This is just news in Africa,how long is the Prime Minister of UK motorcade. These guys also do shopping in malls and drink beer in open pubs.
Another thing the don't have a full colonel standing behind them mung'etho style,doing what?

In Africa show of power is very important. As for the UK dude, security to them is mostly intelligence yaani, they are preventive. We are largely combative, we are the curative type. So our security guys are always ready to fight even in places they would have used intel to dispel fears and restore order. I feel the battle in Mombasa wasn't necessary. Watu ni kushikwa moja moja. Korti ni baadaye. They should have done it the way they did to mungich.

That said, I have never understood why we should be having those aide-de camp. Most African heads of states have them!!.
