Their formances so far so good.

I maintain the minimum peak prices within 2014
as

Safcom 15 from curren 12 bob
Panafric 150 from current 99/100 bob
HFCK 48 from current 34 bob

Their FY eps margin will not be less than 30%.
This is the driving force rather than their fundamentals which are not very spectacular.

This is a normal trend in in a bullish market like NSE.

For speculators a good assured exit point are

Safcom 15 bob
HFCK 42 bob
Panafric 130 bob

Otherwise you will regret (as usual) of alighting too early.

You are right @horton, just that CFC is not in my portfolio because of her miserly dividend as
I believe in both growth and income on the long term.

Those 3 will grow well and still give you good dividend.

Dividend is not an important issue for speculators but for long termers like us it is very important.

Note that my dividend income from NSE last year was getting towards middle six digits in KSH.

Different strokes for different folks. We all have different investment objectives and strategies.
I personally have stopped investing in mid cap
stocks because of past nasty experience.
Big cap stocks can witstand shocks, bearishness
and pay good dividends so they are more reliable.
They may not offer the best returns but you are sure of sustained and consistent growth.

My dear @Aguytrying, let us be very practical here and leave theories as we are here to make money or grow our portfolios.

Mid cap stocks practically has 2 charasteristics :-

(i) Market cap is not high relative to other counters

(ii) Pays miserly dividend as most profits are retained for growth.

Market Cap = No of issued share X the current stock price

HFCK

Issued Shares = 235,700,000
My Average entry Price Aug 2013 = 24.75 bob
Market Cap then 5.816 Billion Shillings

My 1 year target price = 48 bob
Market cap then (if no split or bonus)=235700,000 X 48 = 11.31 Billion shillings

QUESTION

(A)What is the ideal market cap for big cap, mid cap stock in NSE? NO ANSWER
Is 11.3B market cap stock a mid cap or a large cap ?

( B ) Has HFCK been paying good dividend? Yes.
Then it does not behave like a mid cap stock
or it is about to transform to big cap stock.

Do the same Panafric that has 96,000,000 issued shares my entry price was 58 bob and it will reach 150 bob later this year. Compare the market cap then, the past behavior in terms of income (dividend). Does it behave as a typical mid cap stock ? YES OR NO

Your forward looking eyes are more experienced than mine. You are right about the HFCK and PAN Africa. Not where they are but where they are going

dear @aguytrying, please be aware I have done my last investment in your NSE during the recent week bear run.
You might not be reading from me anymore as I have invested and build up enough since my debut in your market ten years ago in 2004.

I will now focus on local and Ghana market to build it up to satisfactory level and to replicate my Kenya success story.

I am looking forward to retiring from paid employment in 3 years time (during next Kenya elections), as I would have build up a fairly comfortable nest egg in stock, real estate and Ghana diversified equity fund.

You guys will continue. At 52 in June @young is not getting younger.

No regrets for changing from 2008 from speculator to long termer.

Best Regards

Have the bonus shares really started trading? My portfolio still shows the same number of PA shares as before.
