A guy with a strong D does Medicine, Law etc No wonder you visit a hospital and you wonder whether the doctor has ever attended a medicine class, you tell him your symptoms and he just blank and mark you the Docs are in our best hospitals...It is just disappointing!!

With all fairness, the current system is just pathetic.

Kenyans are infatuated with degrees. No wonder middle level technical colleges have been converted to universities. India has done the opposite and has invested more in technical education and is now a world leader in science and technology.
Our education system favours academic grades and ignores talent and skills. Some of the guys who get D are very good in technical work but cannot comprehend what Social studies, CRE, geography etc.
They need not go to university but have nowhere to go because polytechnics are now universities

we need all hands on deck - what I am getting from this post is that kenyans think education should dictate what you will do for the rest of your life - entitlement nayo!

we also have assumptions that 'universities prepare people for work environments', each work environment must train its people for its process and requirements - don't expect someone else to do it for you.

So as a parent, your kid scores a C, do you take him or her to a private uni or a govt diploma college?

Where do you want those who get strong D+ to go and their parants have the money? smile

and to imagine that the complaining impunity is also a beneficiary of this.
