Hey, the beneficiaries and guardians of beneficiaries are really defending this.
If you are not academically talented, just accept and move on.

I've sat in several interview panels and i can assure you that sometimes you get shocked ukiskie someone got an A kwa KCSE.

This is a fallacy, may be the D guys are talented at grooming.
.... And let's move from interviews... interviews, you can't judge the quality of an applicant in minutes, Let's talk about performance.

Agreed...An interview is a show off just like a good wedding doesn't necessarily translate to a good marriage.I can perform exceptionally well because I "googled" and did my research and fail to perform when employed.

If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

I agree with you. If someone attains a D but takes remedial courses before enrolling in college, let them be. You do not have to condemn an individual for the rest of their lives just because they attained a D in their O-level exams.

These fellows get a degree after 4 years, wait till you meet some of them and you will agree that there is a problem!!!

The problem is not actually the D but the quality and standards at the Universities. I have seen A students who can not perform and below average D "material" who are diligent and very productive. You meet some of these A students after graduation and you wonder what happened to our Universities or how the hell they managed to graduate.

The bright people who get D in most cases can't afford these Universities, these are real Ds my friend......dunderheads!!!!

That is the real truth. these are real D's being sanctified.
Money and Mwakenya's are sinking the country.

Kitambo, if you got a clean D and went and tried out Medics at UoN, the system would flush out the genuine D's. so goes for the other competitive courses.

but nowdays somebody gets a D. cleanses it with a bridging course from a constituent college. then enrolls to one of the universities after money.
passes by Mwakenya and general university laxity and voila! in the Job Market.

Incase a C+ is demanded, River Road offers redemption.

Not entirely true. I have friends who got admission to Ivy League schools in the US with only their SATs and KCSE Mock results.

There are fellows who think the only reason he'll get the job is because he performed well at school but knows nothing about the job in hand. It should be about your level of experience and how you performed in your previous employment (kama ulikuwa employed), isn't that what the interview is all about.

People still do interviews and ge asked what they got in highschool?

Yes. Some insist on BOTH your KCPE and KCSE certificates plus the leaving certificates of the primary and high schools you went to. Looking for a well-baked all-round person they say...

I know an IT guy who is exceptionally good in programming but if you were to interview him, You will write him off coz he doesn't know how to express himself.

I think Job interviews should be limited to the marketing, sales, customer care guys and senior positions in the organization.
