I agree with you. If someone attains a D but takes remedial courses before enrolling in college, let them be. You do not have to condemn an individual for the rest of their lives just because they attained a D in their O-level exams.

These fellows get a degree after 4 years, wait till you meet some of them and you will agree that there is a problem!!!

Why do employers insist on a minimum grade of C+ yet there are so many people who scored less but have gone through the long process of obtaining degrees from our Universities (Including akina UoN and KU) Kwani what are they supposed to do with their papers afterwards? Perhaps its time we scrapped KCSE...

Its quite unfortunate that all the Technical colleges were converted to Universities.

So sad just to imagine that the likes of USIU are also in muddle!

Pray Pray Pray

Where do you want those who get strong D+ to go and their parants have the money? smile

and to imagine that the complaining impunity is also a beneficiary of this.

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Are you implying that Impunity got a strong D?

The problem is not actually the D but the quality and standards at the Universities. I have seen A students who can not perform and below average D "material" who are diligent and very productive. You meet some of these A students after graduation and you wonder what happened to our Universities or how the hell they managed to graduate.

That was a very wrong move in my opinion. Just the other day, I read of companies decrying lack of welders (can you imagine, jamaa wa kuchomelea) and at one time, Mumias had to 'import' some from (I think) The Philippines.

The universities are better positioned to determine who qualifies for admission, non of the mentioned universities admit the c+ and below grade students directly, they have to go through some form of certification first.
mimi sioni shida.

Do you know how to read?
If so then look at the CHE site.
Its C+ minimum then you can go bridge may be Maths and Sciences.
But you CANNOT bridge a mean score of D-.

Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you

The same applies to some of the guys who scored higher grades, either way if an individual gets a D, repeats form4 and get C+ they will still take 4 years to complete the degree.
