Oh yes!!......There is the escarpment stop high above Subukia,Thompson's Falls and if you use the Rumuruti route,you might consider a day stop over at Ol-Jogi ranch ( It's not a cheap place but it's worth every coin).There is also Kuki's place (Ol Ari Nyiro /Mukutan retreat) but you would need no fewer than two days to enjoy what this expansive conservancy has to offer.



Njung'e Ol Jogi commercialized that place? I was their auditor a long time ago and we kept on recommending that they commercialize the place. But then, Alec Wildenstein http://www.independent.c...f-publicity-785555.html was still alive and he had tons of money to burn so they would hear none of it. Very elegant place especially the master house and the daughter's house

I travel for the love of it.My longest road trip (It was madness) was Bukavu-Lubumbashi via Mbuji Mayi,Kolwezi,and Likasi and back.Bukavu-Mbuji Mayi is roughly 1400Km while Mbuji Mayi-Lubumbashi is roughly 1100km. The main highways between this towns are far much better than our A1s (They call them RN1s). Traversing Katanga Province and all it's beauty remains one of the most memorable things i have done this far and i would do it again.

(Pix in previous post is of a road section between Likasi and Kolwezi in Katanga.Likasi is not very far from the border of Angola.

(ii). I know of South Africa requiring this. But please remember this is WHO requirement but it's Kenya using it extort money (read bribe) by enforcing at departure to deny you travel if you don't have. No one asks it outside our borders d'oh! d'oh!
IMPORTANT: Please go get it and don't say I didn't tell you.

(iii). No idea
(iv). Look for fish joints (I mean real fish smile )
(v). No idea
(vi). Don't leave your money lying around in the hotel room
