Are there iron boxes that are more efficient than others i.e that produce more heat per KWh consumed?

It's always good to aim at less than 50KWH. Ask an honest KP guy why!

If you can get a kenwood ironbox am sure you'd note some difference but ironboxes don't consume since you only iron for 10 min like the way you use your instant hot shower.

Also check the actual readings on your meter. Often Dec most readings are estimated hence dubious Jan bills. had mine tripled but now its been reversed and recalculated.

A friend confirms to me that their apartment block in Langata with pre-paid metres is experiencing a situation where they are getting half the previous value for units consumed. The consumption is the same whilst the KPLC technician 'confirmed' there is nothing wrong with their meters.

How is it that the cost of electricity is twice the amount in some areas as compared to others? I've reported this to KPLC but I am yet to receive feedback.

My Dec billed doubled. On asking why they said previous bills were estimated and when the bill is in areas they even charge interest.

Its like giving a supplier a signed blank open cheque..they do not need to ask the consumer..talk of being at some ones mercy !!!

Have you checked your meter readings?

I still would like to believe what I was told by a KP meter reader. Buy in bits of less than 50 units.
For DC tariff First 50kWh:2.50
50 to 1 500kWh:11.62
Thereafter:19.57
