After the controversy that surrounded the Finger of God saga,[47][48][49] Timberlake made a decision to abandon all other denominations citing "lack of genuine love" among them after they failed to support him during his trials and court battles. He found a new faith in Jehovah's Witnesses[50] popularly known as Watchtower Bible and Tract Society where he has continued to study the Bible towards dedication.[51]

In February 2010, Timberlake married his long term fiancée Esther Timberlake (née Arunga).[52][53] Mrs Timberlake is a Barrister and Solicitor who is currently pursuing Master of Law,[54] member of the Law Council of Australia, Australia Lawyers Alliance, Law Society of New South Wales and The International Law Association. She has also worked as a TV/Radio News Anchor and Journalist,[55] having worked for the Kenya Television Network and before at 98.4 Capital FM in Nairobi.[56][57] During her time as a radio presenter at 98.4 Capital FM, she focused on issues facing Kenyans such as their day to day livelihoods and inequality.[58] Mrs Timberlake gained infamy after announcing her political ambitions in 2010 and getting arrested along with her husband and then subsequently suing her parents, a leading psychiatrist, the Attorney General and the Kenya Police for wrongful imprisonment and torture.[59] During the 2012 elections in Kenya, she was a parliamentary contestant for the seat of Karachuonyo Constituency and a contender for the seat of Deputy President.[60][61] The family currently resides in Australia where they are permanent residents.

Timberlake is a senior member of Golden Key International Honour Society and a post graduate diploma holder from the University of Wollongong in the New South Wales of Australia.[62][63]

Before they fled into exile in Australia, they lived in several suburbs within Nairobi and its environs including; Runda, Kitisuru, Kileleshwa, Lavington, Karen and Syokimau where security agents raided their home. Their house, along with others, was demolished by orders of the Lands and Transport ministers at the time[64][65][66] The government issued reports that the properties were constructed on airport land.[67] Timberlake and his family escaped into a thicket where they resided until they fled Kenya.
