Gunmen shot and wounded a woman and robbed her of unknown amount of money outside Kencom bus stop in Nairobi. The woman had walked out of the bank and was walking to the Ambasadeur bus stop when the gunmen struck in the 12.30 pm incident. The gang of three escaped on foot after shooting the woman in the hip and grabbed a wallet that she had. Police are pursuing the gang. - See more at: http://the-star.co.ke/ne...ck#sthash.YOpSVl9T.dpuf

Even if they were captured on CCTV's where will they trace them from?

Unless we have a centralized database, the cctv's in kenya will remain useless

The way I see in movies...
Profile the face, then compare it to the millions in the database, surely such must have at one point taken an ID Photo.
There must be a way.

That database is most likely a manual one. Haven't you heard of criminals paying off others to get rid of their fingerprint records at registrar of persons? Now, imagine how many Kenyans have I/Ds. Good luck with that.Sad
Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

I don't think the ID database is reliable at all, some of those photos were taken like 20 years ago.....watu wamebadilika. I honestly think that the Kenyan IDs should probably be renewable after 10 years kama Passport.

I'm sure the thugs are known to the police, and they will strike again in the vicinity. They can only attack people in the area if they know that police area are lax in their duties. Let them try normal policing and intelligence gathering before using hi-tech methods
