ati she doesn't resonante? you got to be kidding. Attended a high level meeting leo and aguy stands up to speak and in the second sentence says alama ya dukuduku and guys laugh kabisa and the ice is broken. But I think she won't go far solo, not because she doesn't have talent no she is talented but becaus of the way she has branded herself, too restricted to offer variety

one of the lessons Human resource teaches you is that the company does not care about the individual. Though true, i think it overlooks a lot of issues. I do hope her well, though with the trend in kenyan tv, she ought to give us a mediocre show at best.

why are people assuming that she will take the same jokes to Citizen? let's wait and see, maybe she has a list of comedians lined up.

I think it's a logical assumption. Let's all hope she will change. It's the same thing on churchill, blue band and airtel ads. She has experience in theatre too. Have watched her several times at KNT. I hope she becomes creative and makes it...could be some few more jobs created

Teacher Wanjiku is below Wazua that is why we dont find her funny.

Huko mashinani they think she is the funniest thing to grace their screens..

Just like Vitimbi Inspekta Mwala etc.

And those funs are in millions.

She is a no for me.Kwanza I get very irritated by people who try to imitate her.

Guess each person has a favorite on the show or on any other comedy. The thing is when you watch the churchill thing, the reaction of the audience tells you what happens to those who are watching at home. If they find her funny and applaud, then i guess the same happens @home
Wasn't there a techer from Luhya land who tried doing the teacher sometimes back?

Haiya @kiash?

I think she is best suited for that 3-stones Kikuyu tv...the audience there will be eager to watch her!

I think people are mixing issues here. No one is saying she wont make money or that there is no money to be made in "accent" comedy. For those like me who grew up watching akina Ojwang and the likes i guess we feel its now a bit too mediocre. The challenge to the local comedians is to have content as well as style. It seems they're mostly stuck on style and presentation leaving behind content.
I believe good comedy is such that even a brother from Uganda or TZ should be able to watch the show, understand it and enjoy. Well maybe that's just me.

Her Problem is that If you are not a "Mountaineer" then it's hard to understand most of her Jokes. As someone said, she needs to target a wider audience.

Why do people like spelling doom on others...Mara Lupita Nyongo's role is 'no role', Mara Teacher Wanjiku is not funny, mara this mara that....Over 70% of those who watch her and have a sense of humour like her jokes and are able to pick her punchlines, whether in Kikuyu language or whatever language. Airtel and Blueband and I don't know who else went for her and not anybody else. Corporates look for her to MC their functions...All we can do is wish her well in her new venture. How will one know her/his value/worth unless s/he tries out stuff? Pray

1) You might not like her jokes but there are millions out there who like them.

2) What matters is the Kshs! She is either stuck making 10k a show at churchill or use churchill to launch her own Show on Citizen & make millions of Kshs and other commercials out there like Airtel ads.

3) Success only comes to those who take risks. You can either stick with your employer and live hand to mouth forever, or go out there and employ many others.

4) Give her time, see what she has in store, then review

I cudnt agree more with u on 2) n 4).
but,
isnt art supposed to be versatile, dynamic? as in hitting ur fans in a way they never expected?
so she speaks in shags slang THEN what?
doesnt she want to be relevant n appeal to a more diverse audience?
Remember the other million out there who are potential audience, as u pointed out lets she what she has up her sleeves...

Is it she or see?Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly
