How high is the raised 4 x 2 metre pond so as to hold 1000 fish and what is it made of?
I personally find the 8 months for the fish to mature too long.Does anyone know if the raised ponds can be used to rear say prawns ?
Does anyone here have a photo of this pond?

I have seen a video of the fish farm....interesting...a 1000 fish in a 4x2m raised pond.. this means i can turn my backyard into a fish farm.

Where can one get the black polythene for making the raised pond?

I think the black polythene is a dam liner. Someone had given contacts of where to source in an earlier thread. I think its about 200bob per sq m.

Not a good idea in a neighborhood. I passed-by donholm over the weekend and was unhappy at somebody who has done this in his backyard. He had just called an exhauster service team to bump his pond water into a storm drainage. The algae green water was so smelly to the poor neighbours and flooding next to their gates!! Jee huu ni uungwana....
The only time you should be looking down on others is when you are helping them up.

I read somewhere that the water should be changed regularly to maintain its quality e.g dissolved oxygen, pH etc., not waiting until it's too polluted and full of algae since this affects fish growth very negatively.
