We are on Swift Global at my office. Speedtest today showed 8MBPS. Means we are now connected to Seacom.

I had kept off this thread when it looked like it was really digressing.

Good for you riddler that you are now on seacom.....but question??? and this one i have really tried to stress upon lakini u dont seem to understand me. To which host are u getting 8MB. if its kenya, its not good enuff. u saw my results, even before seacom. i used to have downloads of even 59MB and 5ms (but to KDN.) .

If u r using Swift, then u r connected thro KDN. since they are even on the same building, kwanza its on the same floor/same office,Swift is hosted by KDN since its a fully owned subsidiary.

Also tell us the ping time, the latency helps to gauge the kind of connection you have between two host, regardless of the download speed.

Before seacom i used to ping mumbai at over 1000 sometimes even 1500 but since seacom it 300-and-something

@ subzero

I did a test to Kenya. Latency was 5ms and download at 8 MBPS. I did a similar test to UK and got download speed of 2.5MBPS. I think that decent speed from what I was used to.

Am on Zuku (and they are on KDN) - avg speed this week is between 800kbps and 900kbps (two weeks ago it was a miserable 80kbps to 280kbps). So I think we are connected to the main sewer line now smile

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

when i expressed my concerns about vandalism on this thread, everyone dismissed me. others even said that 'people had such fears when the railway was built'

but in one week,we have had serious outages coz of this. on monday, safaricom blamed their outage on sabotage on their cable.

Today,SEACOM was down for the better part of the day,the cable was vandalised at voi,
