Some time back some SKerians used to predict the direction of stock prices quoting facts that inform their reasoning and some used to do this with a very high degree of accuracy. In some cases the prices went the other way may be due to emotions attached to certain counters rather than the fundermentals but all the same I used to find those discussions and analysis very refreshing and informative.

Of late I have realized such kind of discussions/opinions/predictions etc. have gone down drastically. I know alot has changed in the last couple of years/months but that is not a good enough reason for our SK gurus to go into hibernation. Please guys, bring this discussions back. Give us the facts and your opinions and then everyone can make their own decisions and/or add their own opinion. My thoughts.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I too miss those days, analysis, counter analysis and all that stuff!!!!!

It all starts with you. Start a line. Ask a question. The rest will follow.

safaricom's share price will take a different direction after the AGM on 19th. it may be further upward or towards the sea level. most of the shareholders especially those who bought during the IPO are still grumbling. let's wait and see.

A likely impossibility is always preferable to an unconvincing posibility.

But as ecclesiastes 7:10 says ' Do not say,why were the old days better than these? For it is not wise to ask such questions.

Life is a challenge to be faced,an experience to be gained & a mystery to be solved - We had a long bear run & its basically a cycle that bulls will return .

Predictions are made by human beings but destiny is written by the almight & by the way who controls the market ? human beings .

Wake up guys & shed some more views /insights to cheer up the market though this drought has made this upside down .

Lets hope 4 best - Gud luck

We are patiently waiting to see whether the index will cross 3200 pts on the downside before jumping in at the sign of an upstart.

The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

My take is that with the elec rationing, drought, political risks we are currently facing stocks will begin a loooong nose dive begining end of this month until march next year.
1) Elec rationing will diminish confidence in this economy for foreign investors who will exit sooner rather than later for pastures with a better economic outlook.
2) Increased extra fuel demand for running generators will weaken dollar towards end of this month + the forex demand to import more gensets.
3) Reduced agro output (drought) especially for forex earners tea, coffee, pyrethrum will mean less foreign exchange inflows and a rising dollar exchange rate.
4) Higher Elec bills + Higher fuel costs + Higher food costs (drought) will = inflation.
5) It is time to exit now !!
