Colorado state became the first jurisdiction to sell recreational marijuana legally. Shops licenced to sell the product reported very high turnout as the first day of implementing the change in law. I wonder when Kenyans will follow suit?

Estimated US$ 2,000,000,000 in tax revenue is expected in the states. I think Uhuru should give this a serious look.
1.PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT
2.BOOST AGRICULTURE
3.INCREASED TAX REVENUE
4.TOURISM
The social consequences could also be carefully considered.
1. MENTAL DISEASES

One pot retailer, Diego Pellicer, is even mulling over a floatation in a few years. The projected revenues are massive.

I am opposed to legal sale of drugs, but possession in minor quantities should be decriminalised. It should be a misdemeanour with fines, compulsory rehabilitation/advisory programs and mandatory social work but no JAIL SENTENCE!!
A single roll of marijuana can get you 10 years!!!

A cursory glance through our Narcotics And Psychotropic Substances Act leaves one feeling as though it was drafted by someone who was very angry or had a grudge. Very little mention is made of rehabilitation programs/services and how such should be instituted and funded.

this is of course a thread that is heading nowhere - legalization of this or that will show up in 20 years at least if not 50!

37 deaths in Colorado due to overdose of Pot makes the state think of reconsidering legalization.

the use of the word 'could' in that article waters everthing in it down they are merely speculating on the deaths to be caused by marijuana based on the number of deaths as a result of cigarette smoking. no one has ever died from marijuana smoking or overdose

Unless people are talking of a different type of marijuana, the one av seen smoked by men in shags is nowhere near the good one glorified here. I have seen a case of a guy beat up their mother senseless under its influence. You might all remember those boys who killed their grandmother n when interviewed they were categorical that they first smoked it before the act so that it could make them brave enough. I have seen a man who was ever violent to his family every minute he took a puff. I have seen how dirty those guys who take it are yet in their mind they think they are the cleanest...

Maybe the type smoke by the people I have seen is the 'bad' one, but even the stories given by those who have taken it in bashes after it was mixed with cakes or food are scaring stories. I am yet to meet the good marijuana.

Although marijuana may have some negatives, alcohol and cigarettes are way more dangerous!
