I've been trying to think about this. And my first question is, how does the idea of geometry arise?

What do you mean?

Does geometry exist independently of man and therefore man merely discovers it, or is it a creation of man?

I'd go with the first one. These patterns exist with or without man.

If this is true, then is 'intelligent design' intelligible? Or can it be proven?

How do we define intelligence or design?

A definition entails a proof; yet what are the conditions necessary for any proof?

You are proof of something.

We need to understand what a proof is, and how it comes into being. Otherwise I doubt the authority to say, 'you'.

I'd say something that validates a relationship, state or position. It comes to being because of the relationship shared between the objects/subjects.

'Validate': To declare or make something legally valid. Question is why validate something that already exists?

'Proof': Evidence or argument that compels the mind.

Validating is compelling the mind.

How and why a mind is compelled is the matter.

Perhaps I should point at an example. To show the golden ratio, you divide a line. But what's a line? You get to 'primitive' definitions. Where force is maximum. You get my drift @AlphDoti?
