*Banking situation in KCB South Sudan*
In view of the unfolding events in the Republic of South Sudan for the past one week, KCB Bank South Sudan continues to offer banking services to its customers in the country. Nevertheless, to optimize resources and enhance efficiency, the Bank is consolidating its operations to adequately serve its customers during this period.
KCB banking services in South Sudan will continue to be offered in most upcountry branches where calm continues to prevail, while in Juba services will be offered at Juba, Buluk, Rock City and Bilpam branches.
In addition, the KCB Group CEO said that during this festive season KCB customers who require access to their funds within the region can do so in any of the KCB subsidiaries in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.
“It is also encouraging to note that the situation is now relatively calm and we hope that this will be contained in the coming days following talks initiated by the ministerial of inter-government Authority on Development (IGAD), the United Nations and World leaders to discuss a political solution to the problem”, added the group CEO.
“We commend our KCB South Sudan teams who have continued to provide financial services to our customers during this challenging period. We recognize that it is not easy to smoothly operate under the prevailing circumstances, but the courage, determination and passion to serve our customers is highly commendable”, said Oigara.
The Group CEO also assured all its customers operating in South Sudan and those travelling that their money is safe and the Bank is doing everything possible to ensure that they transact with the bank without any difficulty.
KCB was the first Regional Bank to set-up in South Sudan in the year 2005. Today KCB is the only Bank in South Sudan that operates in all the 10 states and remains with its long-term commitments to support growth and development in the country.
