Get GoTv & pay a one-off opening fee for local channels only.The fee is 2,600sh.

3,399+2600=5,999 for a box which does not have PVR, USB ....? Jolini is only 4,500. I understand once one pays the 2,600 for opening the local channels, there is no reverse process.

@Caveman,I guess Jolini is good for local channels plus playing movies from your external harddisk.Go-Tv on the other hand allows you watch channels like (if you pay) BET,SS Blitz,SS Select 1&2,NatGeo Wild,DiscoveryWorld,BBC,CNN,Channel 0,MtvBase etc.....does Jolini have that?

Nope.....please also list the channel(number of channels) you would view if you don't pay your monthly charges when it is due. It is obvious payTV has more channels.

Each has its advantages I guess depending on consumer preferences.

Each has its advantages I guess depending on consumer preferences.Personally I prefer not to pay at all by upgrading to digital tv with inbuilt dvb-t2.

Samsung launched one with an inbuilt DVB-T2 tuner in 2012. Check on their local website which has specs and prices too:

@butterflyke, they are now available.
Mostly the Samsung & Sony new models.Make sure when buying they test the digital tuning for you, its just a quick test.
The price range is about 40-60K depending on screen size & whether Smart Tv or not.

Yesterday I saw a free to air set top box brand name 'Next' at nakumatt that's selling at 3k. It's made in turkey. Should be this one:

Last week, I came across a set top box named Samsutech whose cost seemed competitive.

Would anyone here assist with some review of this brand!
