The president wants to set up a unit comprising military officers to reinforce security in the capital. Is this a good idea? I say yes because crime is getting out of hand. Too many arms in the hands of the wrong people, cops have become criminals, the threat of terrorism. I propose this unit should also operate in all major urban centres i.e Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret

no need. useless bure kabisa. Recce coy is sufficient just need modernized training and propping. they have what it takes just training and equipment focussed on urban set up. Too much exposure of military not good especially for african states

Recce is currently overstretched as its meant to protect the President(s) and other dignitaries that come in the country. I think (and this is purely my assumption) the president could be of the idea of another military/police unit just like Recce but now with a clear mandate.

My thoughts however are....why cant we train the police? Ama the current crop are beyond repair?

True, today morning made a wrong turn just behind ambassador hotel and karau's were there waiting for me. as usual they took me round and round and as we moved in rounds one of them answered a call and overheard him say that, wee kuja town leo kumeiva mbaya sana. Then i just knew what they wanted luckily enough i have some few contacts and called one of them to ask his colleagues to pardon me, which they agreed without me coughing a single cent

I thot its in everyones knowledge that there is a very significant difference in their pay. Or will the military be downgraded to a police?
