Back in my school days,we were being advised NOT to apply for university courses in computer science or anything related to computers. The reason was that there were only two computers in Kenya...one at the central bank and the other at KPLC...and both had operators...so the only two computer operator jobs in the country had been filled!!!
By the time I graduated (three years later),there were thousands of computers and not enough operators...so anyone with computer knowledge was highly sort for and commanded a very large salary!!
Today; a 'computer' qualification alone will get you nowhere!! Knowing to use a computer is like knowing how to write!! No wonder we call it 'computer literacy'
What am I trying to say? What is marketable today will not be so marketable by the time you graduate!! So,go with your heart. Ask yourself what you really truly enjoy doing. What would you willingly do for no pay? Nay,what would you pay for an opportunity to do!!?
It is probably neither IT nor HR.

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
