If he is a true people's person,let him opt for HR....but if he enjoys technical stuff,IT would be the best bet...In my opinion they are both marketable!!i hope he will make the correct choice!

am a final yr student Bsc crop protection,JKUAT.
whether to choice either of one. will depend on your taste and preference,hence do you have a passion of a carer to pursue.
both courses are of market value. follow the passion in you and choice one.

Back in my school days,we were being advised NOT to apply for university courses in computer science or anything related to computers. The reason was that there were only two computers in Kenya...one at the central bank and the other at KPLC...and both had operators...so the only two computer operator jobs in the country had been filled!!!

By the time I graduated (three years later),there were thousands of computers and not enough operators...so anyone with computer knowledge was highly sort for and commanded a very large salary!!

Today; a 'computer' qualification alone will get you nowhere!! Knowing to use a computer is like knowing how to write!! No wonder we call it 'computer literacy'

What am I trying to say? What is marketable today will not be so marketable by the time you graduate!! So,go with your heart. Ask yourself what you really truly enjoy doing. What would you willingly do for no pay? Nay,what would you pay for an opportunity to do!!?

It is probably neither IT nor HR.

Those two courses are so different.......he should know his passion,afuate roho yake!!!!

@john maina,

get what your heart wants and not what you are told to do.
My own experience.....I did what my dad wanted then and not what I wanted.Today,I am doing evening classes for what I feel suits me and what I wanted.......passion.

@Njung'e - The key word here is final year student.

@ojowida - Rule Number 1 of Campus Rioting (if you must) - Do not throw books and read stones. Always throw stones and read books.

IT or HR is neither here nor there. It boils down to interest and career objectives.
