@Buster, what about the pavement? it looks pretty normal to me, are you suggesting it has been disturbed by the explosion? That is very unlikely as the weakest link in this configuration are the tyres of the vehicles, which are all intact. Any explosion that could have interfered with the pavement would have done in the tyres too. Also note that the kerbs are all intact. Any force from the explosion would have interfered with them.

That aside, I have always said that the solution to this problem must include the return of foreigners to their homes. Because we don't seem to know who is kenyan and who isn't, we must be brave. Then we undo the irregular security forces appointments and promotions of the last ten years.

Like taking a matatu and driving beside a matatu

After implementing bigchicks police state of metal detectors on every matatu (more contracts to they boot lickers), nyumba kumi kumi (spy on your neighbour), community policing (but arrest and extort all somalis), what's next?

Have Kanu youth wingers roaming around in their red uniforms?

When you have bombs being thrown in buses in a country, the problem is the gov't and the security apparatus. Not the citizens who passed away after going shopping in Eastleigh.

Respectfully.

@Alma the situation we are in is terrible and calls for extreme measures. If becoming a police state as you call it will act as a deterrent, so be it for now as we establish more sustainable security measures.

I wish Uhuru could just wake up and say enough is enough, security must be our number one priority. Put all feel good projects on hold and do everything possible to ensure that no more lives are lost senselessy. Double cops pay, make taking bribes treasonable, let him personally act on every corrupt act of the police, pour cops in north eastern and Eastleigh, pour the army along the kenya somalia border. Whatever it takes

If this is still about war in Somalia, then how can increasing vigilance and vigilantes in Nairobi and Kenya help? I'd expect the peace in Somalia to be promptly established. But what if it's difficult to bring peace to Somalia? How will it be possible to secure Kenya?

Every solution is a problem, therefore solving a problem is balancing a problem or set of problems. So what problems would we rather live with? What, would we rather protect?

I think these are questions for those who have power, not the multitude of frightened chicken in the cage.

Yes.Metal detectors in every mathree. No carrying passengers from undesignated places.Organize our bus stages in such a way that we are able to check anybody waiting to board.

Passenger be alert, be aware who is next to you, above all know your neighbour.

Human nature is such that a wrong doer will always leave a trace.Let us be extra cautious and we will see this traces they leave behind.

Community policing......sorry some people may suffer in the process but better safe than sorry.

Not all muslims are terrorists but most terrorists are muslims........so with due respect Muslims should be more on our rader.

Kenyans we can do it.our combined efforts will help us.

This may be intended to divide people.

@bigchick, watch your language. I think a person of your calibre should be more sensitive. We should make everyone a partner in fighting insecurity. When offensive is stopped on people, the people will feel valued. One of the major factors of the impression you have is the media.
It is the strategy of the media to malign Islam.
Many a times the media they quote some verse out of context with the intention to malign the Muslims.

For example: in 1996 at Olympics in Atlanta, a bomb which killed more than 100 people.
At that time on American soil. It came on the head line "Middle East Conspiracy", "Muslims to blame". The headlines ran for days. Later on when they came to know, it was two American soldiers.
WHat happened? It vanished from the headlines!!

So when they don't know who it is, they say it is a muslim. And when they come to know it disappears from the headlines. Why?

Also a while back in India there was an headline saying "50 year old Arab marries 18 year old girl". But when it is 50 year old non-Muslim rapes a 6 year old girl, it becomes a newsbrief.
The 50 year old Muslim he gets permission from the parent, it does not go down the throat of the media. But the 50 year old non-Muslim rapes a 6 year old girl, it becomes a newsbrief. Why?

There was another case, I can't remember where, there was a bomb, 9 people were killed, suspect? Muslims, Muslims!! That was only a suspect, not 100% prove. Same day some fellows killed 16 police men, not civillians but policemen, and it became a newsbrief. They knew the people who killed the policmen, it became newsbrief. They don't know who did, they say it's Muslim suspects.

So sister the major cause is the media. What they do is pick a blacksheep of community and potray that as Muslims. So I say there are blacksheep in every community.

It is true there are some bad Muslims, but there are also bad Christians. Saying which ones are more, is the impression created by the media.
We can try to count them ourselves here but that is not the point.

I'm sure if this is investigated well, it might turn out that it is not Muslim. We don't know who did it but people are already mentioning some people. I'm sure most dead or injured are Muslims. Nowhere has any leader prescribed killing of innocent people, no circumstance ever.
