that is greatness. He had an opportunity to leave prison in 1977 but he said no!! He was a man with a great heart - a heart of humanity. However this does not mean that he is the only hero africa has. Stating this does not mean that while some consider Mugabe a hero they are rubbishing Mandela. I have urged people not to be extreme - life is not black or white.

My friend. Mugabe will never be a hero. Even in hell, satan will not put him in a pedestal. He'll be having an extra fork to pierce his heart as its so so old.

Mugabe is just some crazy guy that people are waiting to die. When will he die is a common bet in Zimbabwe.

Mugabe is not africanism. He's a dick head who people are are waiting to die.

But I agree with you on Mandela

When he was a practising lawyer,a black man was accused of raping a white woman. If convicted the sentence would have been most severe. So he looked at woman in the eye and asked her.'You want to say this man here, penetrated you'?:Because of her immense hatred for the 'inferior' race the woman said..'no,no' and the black man was acquitted.

I hope this is not one of his famous quotes!

If Ohunye can only accept to go to the Hagwe and jailed for 50 years I bet he would be TWICE as great as Mandela. Who are his advicers here?

Ohunye hatawahi kanhyaga hague. Uliza siringi na amina abdallah. You are dreaming.

Meaning anyone dreming that Uhunye will ever become dreaming is watching Alice in wonderland. Ruto will do it before Uhunye. Tafakari hayo

I completely agree with this, I think Mandela was a great man, in that he championed black people's rights at a time when apartheid was rife. I think Mugabe did the same thing, only that Mugabe took the militant route while Mandela took the forgive and forget route. Its like the MLK vs Malcolm phenomenon, both were for black rights, only difference was their approach. There are some things I don't agree on with Mugabe, but overall I think he is a hero for demanding that black Zimbabweans be treated as human beings, a basic right. I think the western media has done a good job at vilifying any African leader who goes against their ideals and interests, so I'm about to embark on finding out more about Sankara. I admire Kagame too. I agree with Lolest, that we have let the west decide who is worthy of being celebrated and who is not, case in point Gaddafi!
