Count me in! But I have to say, the new era hiphop is too materialistic, only a few of the current artists are keeping it REAL. As a result I keep finding myself going back to older albums - lots of good music in there

Reminisce the golden years 90s.. when hiphop westcoast lyricism was changed when the likes of Rakim, Biggy, Nas, The Roots, Immortal Technique, graced the mic. remember the all-time classic lpz: Illmatic, Ready to Die, Reasonable Doubt etc

True lyricism died at the onset of the grand millenium 2000..tho hiphop still lives in the underground.

Nothing hiphop. Maybe only Rappers Delight by Sugar Hill Gang.

Huge Nas fan here. I really enjoy his lyricism. Untitled and Stillmatic are my favourite

What? I hated 90's rap! It glorified violence too much especially those Westside Connection guys, Ice T, kina Dre,Snoop etc.
My best Hip Hop era was the early 2000s. When Kanye was still College Dropout Kanye, Xhibit was still doing 'X', when Nas had that beef with Jay, when Foxxy Brown was still a rapper....I could go on and on and on...I still have my copies of The Source and Vibe magazines from back in the day.
I remember how Aaliyah was in the cover of Vibe the very month she died. Such wasted talent.
Even the bubble gum rappers then were more tolerable, who can forget Lil' Zane, the 502 Boyz, the No Limit crew.
You just had to take me there....*sigh*

Nice listen. The come back album esp Stillmatic, Reminds me of Ether & arguably one of the most celebrated hiphop beefs of our time!! Nas Vs Jay Z's Take Over/Supa Ugly..
