I don't listen to it so much, but I have been learning something about hip hop culture. I haven't had a conversation about it though.

If you were told that there was a flip side to this particular music particularly of the underworld, does it occur to you that it could be true?

Everything has a flipside of itself. So what exactly do u refer to here (as in this particular case) state it.

First, let us start by categorizing this genre into 2 fragments: the Mainstream (the all-glorifying, highly washed up side of this kind of music) and the underground (the conscious-oriented subject-pointed side)..

Hiphop as a culture has always been about 4 things: MCeeing, breakdancing, Djeeing (scratching) & graffiti..

breakdancing died a long time ago together with mc hammer, 'djeeing' is headed to its death bed thanks to the computer, 'Mceeing' will be finished by the likes of justin beiber and minaj and graffiti has been rendered meaningless by the mido class tweeps.

thus hiphop is headed the makueni route.smile

Those were the days of true hip-hop rap.
Lostboys, Fugees, MOP,House of Pain, Old days Snoop, Dr. mwenyewe,Xzibit etc etc. Those were the true spitters.

Not the bubble-gum kind we have to put up with these days.
