Let's see if we can spin this one. If a consumer is used to paying 4,000 for electricity but (more than) half of that has been fuel costs and later pays the same 4,000 for pure* electricity but which costs a bit more (tariff wise) - is there any relief in real terms?

Wanjiku version: Let's say we've been buying half a loaf for 70 but later we pay 80 for a full loaf. Deal or no deal? smile

Until the likes of Aggreko disappear from the power gen suppliers list, funny power costs will be ever present... Good to see such getting decommissioned, but they need to disappear for good.

That's very true and we need more private sector hands who'll bear more their own risks than taxing consumers too heavily. I like this; AU Commission injects Sh730m in geothermal project - 140MW http://www.capitalfm.co....-in-geothermal-project/ .Also, was pleased that TCL has a 35MW geo-thermal JV with Symbion. The likes of Centum also intend to weigh in. ERC's latest review is based on real objectivity as anyone who read Kengen's latest guidance would see it coming. Talking about 380MW of geo & wind mix in a year's time. Look it up.

Kenya's inflation rate dropped marginally to 7.36 per cent this month compared to 7.76 per cent in October, driven by lower fuel prices.

Probably when our sugar sector wakes up from its coma, we can follow Zim up this road: Zimbabwe introduces E15 mandatory blending of ethanol: http://www.zbc.co.zw/new...uel-blending-ratio.html

The benefits to the local economy from the value addition & creation are just amazing...

KCB is the banker for NSSF;that is why even they have a branch inside NSSF.Even the current monthly payment of ksh.400 is normally banked at KCB
