If the project goes through,it will mean death to the trucking companies.

Talk about bad timing the owner of buzeki has just sold molo milk to brookside to concentrate on his trucking business infact he intends to double the number of trucks

So will this be a separate railway line from the current one?

How is Transcentury reacting to the news? RVR will come under immense pressure once this Railway is done. People will prefer to use the new Railway than the slow RVR line.

Just to make things clear....Kenya Railways will own the track (the railway itself) and private investors will own the rolling stock(the trains).

It is all business. RVR has an upper hand.

"All the resources necessary for the successful project implementation, including personnel and finances have been mobilized,” said Liu. The litigants argued in court that the contract is too high as the price unit is pegged at US$6 million (Sh510 million) per kilometer compared to the international standard of $2 million (Sh170 million) per kilometer. They said this was an “obstructive waste of public funds”. - See more at: http://the-star.co.ke/ne...ash.Nm1lSMrb.dpuf"

The China deal comes with 56 locomotives. Who will own these?

Aha. Reminds me if the story of Virgin Rail and the bitter wars they fought with the then British railways over standards and quality. Hopefully we can avoid the same.

Ah I see.

However I still doubt the dock union intentions. I have seen that $2 million figure before but it was the lower limit not the international standard.
