I know for a fact that there are local ambulances in Thika - why couldnt they use one? Or use his car to ferry him to Aga Khan? Anyway siku ya nyani kufa miti yote huteleza Which ones? Name them. The one at Thika Nursing home has no engine! The one at St Mulumba (7.5km from Thika Nursing) is only used for that hospital's patients. Thuo was at Nursing home - which was the nearest from the Porkies Club where he collapsed. The one belonging to the defunct Municipality has no night time driver. Which other one do you know of? About ferrying him in a personal car... the doctors would not allow that because he was already on supplementary oxygen. It was not possible to put him in a personal car. BTW: Thuo was the third person that I know who died in Thika because of lack of ambulance service. It's a big shame for AAR because all three were covered by AAR and AAR does not have an ambulance in the town. Also a big shame that big hospitals (Matter, Aga Khan, Gertrude's, etc) are just opening clinics in Thika but they have no way of transporting emergency cases to their HQs in Nairobi. Where are the investors? This is a prime market! Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

What is the difference between a personal car and ambulance? If its a respirator or IV, there are portable(or semi portable) ones which can be put jua kali into a personal car in extreme cases.

Anyway siku ya nyani kufa miti yote huteleza I have had the misfortune of looking for an ambulance in Thika town at 10.00pm without success. I opted to drive the patient all the way to Nairobi in a saloon car. I had to beg a nurse to accompany me. The unfortunate bit is that the town does not have a reliable high dependency unit leave alone an ICU. The Thika level five hospital is nothing to write home about. Any serious investor out there? For you information, even Gertrudes and Mater near Tuskys depend on St Johns ambulance though I have noticed Naindu has a relatively new one. The Thika Nursing home one has not moved for months. This is so true. Woe unto you if you need blood, you have to drive to Gatundu (...yes a smaller town) or to Nairobi at those ungodly hours. Serious deep pocketed wazuans should see a business idea.

Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.

But seriously, a man this rich must be driving a SUV more padded and stable than a local ambulance. I have rushed a man (unfortunately who upon arrival was pronounced dead) to hospital, in a much lesser borrowed car.

I think it would have taken the same time to rush him from the club to Aga khan as it took to take to a hospital in thika. I do 30 minutes from Museum to Thika town. I am it took much more time to get him that local hospital than it would have taken to get him to Aga Khan. On this one I agree with this man of God!

@Simonkabz....duru za kuaminika za semaaje? I had prayed that it was natural causes like heart attack. Then I would say its Gods will. This situation of murder makes it more hearting and painful. Pray the truth comes out and the culprits face the full force of the law.
