Last year DTB rights were sold at 74

Today its a return of 150%

How do you see proposed NBK rights in 2014 doing?

Ofcourse am not comparing DTB and NBK but can NBK rights give me even 20% return

I would want to have some shares to allow me have buy the rights

When the NARC/Kibaki administration took office alot of support and initiatives were offered to KCB to turn it around from a loss making state bank to a very vibrant banking institution presently.
Also Co-operative bank was done the same.
As a result banks like Barclays lost alot of business and in return sluggish, stagnant growth and at tomes drop in profits.KCB overtook both of them.
Same case is being applied for NBK and there will be eventual losers.
Of the listed banks which ones will lose out

If you open a tweet on a new window it usually has a status id.

e.g. https://twitter.com/geng...atus/398716076642426880

The status id = 398716076642426880

To embed this tweet in your post you use the tags

[tweet]status id[/tweet*]

[tweet]398716076642426880[/tweet*]

When posting the tweet remove the asterisk (*) on the tag statement above.

@mwekezaji - I was to alert you when NBK break out of the upper BB bound. Well if it closes today above 22.40, then this will be a bullish break with targets around 25 - 30.

Cheers @hisah. I notice brokers have started to turn bullish on this counter with a caution on dilution. Read what Kestrel has today written in their NBK Q3 detailed results note:

National Bank is trading at a trailing P/E ratio of 5.0x and a P/B ratio of 0.6x, below the banking sector averages of 9.3x and 2.1x respectively. Its ROE is 11.0% compared to the sector average of 21.6%. Going forward, its ongoing transformation program will improve its medium-term performance chiefly by addressing the high NPL and CTI Ratios thus making the stock attractive as current levels. National Bank plans to conduct a Rights Issue in 2014 to raise KES 10.0bn to fund regional expansion.
