People will always try to "import" foreign ideas, I admire this county so much. These young men after they are done with this, what next? You may not like it, but each country has its own set of ilegal exotic practices and offending public order. For example, kissing in public is illegal in Kenya, but it's not illegal in some other countries. Walking naked in Kenya is illegal, but it is legal in other counties like UK (naturalists have constitutional rights). So who tells Kenya to criminalize kissing or walking naked? The same way Saudia have their right to abolish what they wish. It's their country. Leave people alone!

The title of this thread is wrong. It should be 'Saudi Arabian women not allowed to drive!'.
The prohibition on women drivers have nothing to do with Islam in that country. It is purely due to their culture and nothing else.
And I'm Christian, before y'all start bashing me.

And I'm Christian, before y'all start bashing me. You're right @JL. I pointed this out in thread #5For those who want to be truthful, not every Muslim woman in the world is denied to drive. We have Muslim women in Kenya, in the US, in UK, in France, Algeria, in Libya, in Sudan etc don't they drive? The title is misleading. It's Saudia's decision and it's their law. Just like women are not allowed to ride motor bike in China, it's China's law! Why are they not questioning that? The objective is clear, to create falsehood.

And I'm Christian, before y'all start bashing me. But isn't Saudi their 'holy land'? Where they go for haj? Where they face when they pray? Shouldn't things there be 'perfect' and set precedence to the way things should be in other muslim territories? Or is it another typical islam habit of 'Do as I say, not as I do'?

Lets agree on one thing, people see what they want to see! From where I sit the title is neither misleading nor inappropriate. One just needs to look at it objectively. While at it, Just what is ISLAM's POSITION on the question of Women Drivers!! Someone.... Dunia ni msongamano..

You must have started this thread and went to sleep, otherwise how did you miss that reply? Or you want an answer from someone else not me? As regards driving, women in Islam have a right to move, to go out, for their needs. And if there is need for them to drive, the society has to provide safe & secure environment for them. Of course, in some places they have not allowed them to drive because they are afraid that women may encounter difficulty and some problem. Not because Islam forbids them. That is only there for their own circumstances, only for their own social structure that they forbid that. For example, in China, women are not allowed to ride motorbikes. Did you know that? And do you agree with that? May be not. So you realized that it is their own circumstances, and they know better why. You know most of the Muslim countries have not forbidden women from driving. They do drive. Nobody says it is forbidden or it is haram in Islam. Just understand that in some areas at certain times, people may do that. You may agree with them or you may not agree with them. But that's their own particular circumstance, but it has nothing to do with shariah or Islamic law. Shariah law is universal law. And universal law has not forbiden anybody from driving, as long as that person knows how to drive, and vehicle is in right condition and those road rules. So I hope this is clear to all concerned.

Assuming your view to be correct, then in that case Saudi Arabia should not explain the ban as informed by religion. Dunia ni msongamano..
