At least he has space to plant some trees and a live fence, not those ugly stone walls. A 1/4 acre is a big plot.

There are 3 ways to own a 8bdr house in Nairobi 1. buy a complete one at runda at 100m. 2. buy a plot at 30m in runda and put up the 15m house, total 45m. 3. buy a plot at mbs rd at 3m and put up the 15m hse, total 18m.
In all cases you will end up living in a 8bd hse. The choice is yours.

Let him be...and BTW some areas of kitengela are very nice with beautiful mansions siting on leafy 1/4 acre plots. @Luxel explain uaself... I know there are nice areas in kitengela like chuna, however, an 8 bedroom & 6 bathroom is not a typical house in kitengela. He may not enjoy his dream house because it is not in sync with the neighbourhood. Just imagine his neighbours burning waste ovyo ovyo and the smoke goes through his bar while he is enjoying hennessy with his friends. He will also be the target no.1 as far as insecurity is concerned. Are you suggesting that he should have used the 25m to buy a 3bd apartment hapo kileleshwa instead of putting up the mansion in kitengela? Karen would have been ideal.Half acre for 18m and 7m for building the house. He dint want a 7m shilling house at Karen. , he wanted an 18m house along mombasa road Is there any credible link to show the house cost 18m with those mabatis?I doubt the finishes are worth talking about.@a4architect should comment but unfortunately this is not his kind of thread.

Assuming that the house is 600m2 and that it cost 20k per sq m to build, the total cost should be 12m. Then add land at 3m to give total of 15m.

I thought this thread was about how one was enjoying life while being single. But all am seeing is 'speculation' on the house he 'owns'. Someone show me how the subject is enjoying life despite being single. . . and how it's easier to enjoy life being married or something like that.

Exactly. Why do pple like making it appear that its very rxpensive to build a house beyond the ordinary mans reach.Through experience, yes i say thru experience the most that Munene house could cost is Kshs.7m or even less unless he has used some out of this world finishings Kwanza with that mabati roofing which averagely cost him atmost 300k on the higher side.As i know in kenya with the cost of materials say sand, building bliocks, cement and even labour(unless you being conned by some brokers)being averagely reasonable with like 2m you can put up a serious structure physical structure. Now tell me even if you import a whole container of equipment and the like for finishings how does it add to those astronomical figures. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

You cannot put up a roof with 300K even using the cheapest mabati. Remember labour and Mbao. The man who marries a beautiful woman, and the farmer who grows corn by the roadside have the same problem

About that story, who says that one must choose between golf balls and pebbles? maybe Munene is dealing with the pebbles because he has taken care of his balls. He may not be married but he has friends, good health and passion (for radio).
We should not assume that all rich people are miserable when it comes to family matters. 'Passion for radio'; which 'radio'? Easy fm...or did I miss the question? No. I just wanted to clarify it's not '@radio wazua'. @tycho, bure kabisa!
