There's a tear in the inner 2 walls of the aorta. Blood passes through there in a false lumen and with time forms a bulge which grows larger and larger and finally bursts. Usually fatal.

Dissections are very rare, 1 in a million or so. Aneurysms are more common, 120 in a million and involve a bulge due to weakness of the entire wall of a blood vessel.
Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.

Pole maka,I lost my best aunt this year to the same, as she was singing happily in church. It happened in minutes.
@ guru,Who is more predisposed to suffer from it?
Or what's the no.one trigger?
Anytime I feel a tightening on my left side I begin the Lord's prayer in earnest.

RIP Thuo.

Poogie,

Between 1983 and 1985
Up at Kagumo High Schools, "Kabau",
Under the watchful eyes of "General" Francis Mwangi and Njung'e "Wamanane",
You taught me, nay, showed me how to eat life
With a big spoon.
Living hard so to speak.

Now, you have died hard so that I can follow.

You lived hard and died hard.

Please plant a "Mwanga" for me.

And May the Good Lord rest your Soul in Eternal Peace.
