Why are these people playing politics with life? I thought the hurricanes in US had sent clear warning of what is expected if they didn't sign Kyoto.

If we continue joking, mother nature will soon teach us a lesson that will never be forgotten by the lucky few who live to tell.

BBI will solve it

As long as we live in this competitive world kyoto protocol will justy be that, protocol. The rich countries can not sacrifice their industrialisation and risk massive unemployment and possible chaos just to please poor and undeveloped countries.

Global warming to some extents beneficial to these developed countries for instance when scientist are warning of melting of the polar regions US,china and russia are exploring for oil and other minerals.

is it Hopenhagen or Copenhagen?

Environment is new source of funds, forget IMF and World Bank. You have to be in Copenhagen to remain within the world financial system. Poor nations must surrender their soveriegnity. Otherwise, how do I ensure you planted a tree after I gave you money to plant one. How do you assure a donor that you are taking care of the tree you planted with the money he gave you to plant, maintain and protect? How does the donor ensure that after money for tree planting in Mau is safe if our politicians can still hive it off and give it to squatters?

In areas like Greenland they are experiencing warmer weather that is more suitable for growing some crops.
Climate change will not be doom and gloom to every country. here in Africa we should think of ways of preventing/minimizing its catastrophe
If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

Wait till typhoons and hurricanes are "imported" into Kenya, wacha westgate. Our environment(Even Kenya's current climate) is worth something, and Kyoto say's we should be PAID by the gross "thieves"/benefactors from the mess they are making everyone undergo, or cut down on the mess, simple? Where will the farmer who was supposed to harvest 20 bags of maize and will now harvest 1 bag get compensation from and the problem is caused by OTHER PEOPLE?
