What biz can one do to generate at least 30k profit a month on 8m x 6m space? That’s the space that remains of my 50x100 plot the rest is the house.

Reason for 30k is this is what I consider to be minimum recurrent expenditure for average town lifestyle by my own standards. Any ideas?

@limanika,
You can try out quail farming..seems to be the craze at the moment
checkout--http://poultrysuccess.blogspot.com/

I will give it a try when I get a suitable place to operate from..

Thanks but confirm the following:
.As per the blog, a cage measuring 4*2.5*1.5ft can house a maximum of 50 quails?
.I understand these are wild animals; will the neighbourhood association rise up in arms against?

What about the stench of the chicken manure? I wouldn't want to live next to that ammonia, i would complain to kanjo. Moreover keeping of livestock within the city is prohibited.

Have you restricted yourself to just farming or are you open to other ideas?

You could open a micro-factory making anything from potato chips to fruit juices to cakes and bread to... non-food items like clothing etc.

You could even put up a nice furnished guest wing and rent it out (B&B) for something like 2kper night....

It all depends on the amount of capital you have to invest.

Farming on anything less than one hectare (2.5acres) is not good utilisation of land. Yes, I know there are people doing and making a profit, but they can make many times more from the same land if they stopped farming and started processing something on the same land!

Just think outside the farming box.

Put up a posho mill; buy dry maize; mill it. Pack the flour and sell....to kiosks in the neighbourhood.

@ Mukiha, much appreciated, your well thought contributions have been missing for some time. Posho mill is out due to noise n dust. Bakery – not sure whether aroma will affect some neighbour. Farming- I agree.

You mill at daytime. Electric posho mills are not that noisy... you could build a clever sound-proofed enclosure...... thinking outside the box
