Hey All,

Those who are soooo keen on the Current resale price for cars please dont rush. The rules are changing from October.

Some are

1. All importers are supposed to pay their taxes direct to the Exchequer and to be able to achieve this you are supposed to open an USHURU ACCOUNT WITH NATIONAL BANK OF KENYA please note that open the account is mandatory.

2. The Form C63 will be done away with to pave way for form C17 which conforms with the East Africa Community and it will be used uniformly among member States.

3. Motor vehicle importers will be required to use invoice value which always higher than the CRSP since the latter isn't recognised by WTO as a basis of valuation which is according to WTO price actually paid or payable.

4. In case of any dispute in value there will be a supplementary entry to be lodged since F147 will have been done away with.

@dexco,

Why should importers open an account at NBK(single sourcing)?What would have made sense if for CBK to have an ushuru account at NBK to which importers pay duty.Proof that the duty has been paid would then be the banking slip issued by NBK.

@dexco

it would be helpful if you would explain what the various technical forms that you mention are all about that. and what is CRSP?

if i have got you right,KRA will no longer rely on prices of new vehicles as the starting point for their calculations?

@Mpenzi. At least I know CRSP is Current Retail Selling Price. As for effect on prices come Oct I think for Kenya it'll b more expensive if 8yr limit stands.
