A good church must be led by accountable people.
You cannot detach the pastor from the church he leads and say twende tu, after all we don't worship people but God.

Can you drink tea from a dirty smelly cup?
But you can pour tea into a dirty cup over and over until it becomes clean.

Yes, Mureithi of House of Grace is ex-CITAM. So is Steve Mutua who was at NPC Ngong before he started his church opposite KCB Training centre, Karen. I respect CITAM for its strictness. @Mukiri unakumbuka hawa? if people fail to bring themselves under the submission of elders they will start mushrooming churches all over. I was once part of a church planting group of believers back in Naks. so one day a friend's father was requested to preach after a good showing during bible study. He turned down the request and when I had a talk with him one sunday afternoon he told me "UNTIL I KNOW WHO XYZ IS I WILL NOT PREACH IN HIS CHURCH"... i thought the said pastor was OK but about a year later drama and findio came out about adultery cases. the life lesson i took from that point in time is that TIME HAS A WAY OF EXPOSING PEOPLE. We wait! So I wait... if someone like Lai has escaped all these things from the early 90s when his program used to grace our screens as from 4:30 pm(his program used to follow that silly italian program - interbang‽). most of these people you see today will not be there in 10 years - why? one of those 3 weaknesses will haunt them. Money generally shows up in "pada begu" type messages.

Sawa sawa boss. We are all sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God.

You are yet to answer, what happens when there is a falling out, the Pastor repents but is not accepted back? Chances are he might not be accepted into another mainstream, so what to do? Does he change careers? or...

When you see pastors living large as in not like Christ ask questions. If you study the bible and understand it well, you'll realize that a man of God is supposed to be a giver not a taker. The first preachers- the house of Levi- lived in a very simple way. All the prophets infact, Jesus too, born in a manger, when he was preaching and the congregation was hungry, he performed miracles to feed them. But in todays world, you will not be blessed if you dont give mbego....Thats why I like my church in gakoromone where we give what we have, eggs, bananas, chicken etc

OMG! Ati an attack on Christianity??? Why are people so sensitive? This is not even an attack on Christianity but on those liars calling themselves pastors. This guy did a good job on the show although he should have revealed himself and the fake pastor to their congregation so that they can see how easy it is to be hood winked. The point of buying the collar was to show that ANYONE can walk into a shop and get it. The point of using the aethist was to show that ANYONE can cram a few verses, recite them and have gullible folk believing whatever they say.

The root cause of backwardness in Africa is as a result of brainwashing by foreign religions. they are also able to siphon money out of Africa.

How can we remain in religions that helped colonise us?

How can we remain in religions that our forefathers were forced to join through wars?

Religious matters are supposed to be personal. People will never be herded into heaven like cattle or sheep!

@masukuma, my issue is not that there are no criminals using the pulpit as a means to fleece gullible people. That we know and acknowledge. FYI, all the cases of the fake preachers in Kenya he talked about are already in the public domain. Some going as far back as 2008.

My point is that this feature painted using a very broad brush. Totally no objectivity! I will keep saying there are many who serve God genuinely and do not expect any earthly reward. Nothing was said about them. This gives the impression that ALL who serve are out to fleece their congregations.
