sumuni wrote:4lourBliss wrote:Sally is 54 years old and her mother is 80, how many years ago was Sally’s mother three times her age? 41 years ago. Solution; Let the no. of years ago when sally mother's age was 3 times hers be Y Then 3(54-Y) = (80-Y) 162-3Y = 80 - Y Putting like terms together, 162-80 = 3Y-Y 82 = 2Y Hence, Y = 41 We want more!!! yes, when sally was 13 and her mother was 39 Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

888+88+8+8+8= 1000 This one i had no idea what was been asked, but the others are form 2 stuff. A ship anchored in a port has a ladder which hangs over the side. The length of the ladder is 200cm, the distance between each rung in 20cm and the bottom rung touches the water. The tide rises at a rate of 10cm an hour. When will the water reach the fifth rung? Three brothers live in a farm. They agreed to buy new seeds: Adam and Ben would go and Charlie stayed to protect fields. Ben bought 75 sacks of wheat in the market whereas Adam bought 45 sacks. At home, they split the sacks equally. Charlie had paid 1400 shillings for the wheat. How much shillings did Ben and Adam get of the sum, considering equal split of the sacks? Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

For a non mathematical logical riddle; In False land, all the inhabitants always lie. In True land, all the inhabitants always tell the truth. A stranger is trapped in a room that has two doors. One door leads to freedom, the other does not. The doors are guarded by a jailer from the False land and by another from the True land. To find the door to freedom, the stranger only can ask one question to one of the jailers, but he does not know which is from the True land. What question did he ask to save himself? It is a curious fact that of all the illusions that beset mankind, none is quite as curious as that tendency to suppose that we are mentally and morally superior to those who differ from us in opinion.
