Take away my first letter, and I still sound the same. Take away my last letter, I still sound the same. Even take away my letter in the middle, I will still sound the same. I am a five letter word. What am I?

Johnny’s mother had three children. The first child was named April. The second child was named May. What was the third child’s name?

Simple...

let chicken = x
and goats = y

Then just solve the equation..

x + y = 19 (based on heads)
2x + 4y = 60 (based on legs)

Thus
x=19-y

therefore
2(19-y)+4y=60
38-2y+4y=60
2y=22
y=11

Thus x=8

Therefore: chicken are 8 with 16 legs
goats are 11 with 44 legs.

Total 19 heads and 60 legs.
