Simple...
let chicken = x
and goats = y
Then just solve the equation..
x + y = 19 (based on heads)
2x + 4y = 60 (based on legs)
Thus
x=19-y
therefore
2(19-y)+4y=60
38-2y+4y=60
2y=22
y=11
Thus x=8
Therefore: chicken are 8 with 16 legs
goats are 11 with 44 legs.
Total 19 heads and 60 legs.
**unless you are including the '5th leg' of the billy goats
