Not lumping all the blame at governor's feet still nursing LBT.

Its road projects like these that funded the recently concluded elections. That TNA cap you're wearing and that ODM t shirt had to be paid for.

Someone here might call @2012 a tribalist for that comment. From what I gather, if you belong to a certain community, you can do no wrong.


sorry folks but i dont see where the tribalism angle is coming from. If you blame Kidero for something whether he deserves it or not, are you blaming the community he comes from? Sad Sad

Yani, most part of Upper Hill is so unbearable. Unsafe to both pedestrians and motorists. You can never walk the "streets" anymore..

its such a shame. I never look forward to being in that hill from around 5 pm. The traffic is a mess. It is said (dont ask who) that due to the many buildings coming up, the road contractors do not want to finish their roads as the heavy trucks will damage them soon after and it will seem like they did not their job properly. While you are asking us not to ask who, we can in the mean time analyse your statement nonetheless.

Other roads have been completed recently in areas where construction is ongoing case in point is Ring Road Kileleshwa. So are we saying that the trucks in Kileleshwa are lighter than those in Upperhill? Even if the trucks in Upperhill are heavier, would they not destroy roads outside of Upperhill are is their movement confined to Upperhill?

In my experience, most contractors want to complete their project ahead of time due to rising cost of materials, finance and labour costs. Some of the reasons a contractor would halt works is if they are not being paid by the client, a dispute has arisen or a court order has been issued due to various factors stopping further work on the project.

none of what you indicate above has been brought forward. Atleast we know the cause of the delay at bomas, same case at cabanas. Tell me what is the reason for upperhill roads?

Kile bypass was funded by the japanses. Upper Hill roads are self-funded by KURA. And, KURA hasnt paid the contractor in a while now. Thats the word from a supervisor i talked to from the construction company

I voted for Kidero and he's not from my 'tribe' because I believed he was the best candidate for the job and the promises he made. I live in Nairobi and where I live with my family is more important than tribe. We gave the city to Kidero and I don't care who's mandate falls where, he's the president of Nairobi and I can blame him for everything including insecurity even if the docket is under the central govt.
The road stalling is just slowing down Nairobi as others progress. It's unforgivable for an important road like that one to stall. Btw, I would still vote for him all over again Baba yao.

BBI will solve it :)

Similar reasons might be at play here - I at least know that KURA is negotiating with Nairobi Club over acquisition/surrender of land on all sides of the club's property [for the widening of Chyulu, Mara & Hospital Roads and the dualling of Ngong' Road]. This [excepting the Ngong' Road aspect] and the cabanas/bomas delays make me wonder though why such negotiations are not done and the surrenders/acquisitions concluded prior to commencement of works?
