It's time the counties took over public transport in Kenya and do away with all this cartels that keep killing people everyday.

Now wait for press conferences, tough TV talks, transport "Experts" on live shows, radio stations live call-ins condeming the act, etc etc...then slowly after 2 days, back to hell.

You can even anticipate what they are going to say. "We will take stern actions on any driver found to be breaking the traffic laws blah blah blah.."

That was said 10, 8, ....2, 0 years ago. No action. Nonsense.

Everyone sees these vehicles breaking the laws everyday. Kwani police guys travel using choppers ama wako na private underground routes?

You can be sure this can never happen coz the guys who can bring such laws and order are great beneficiaries of the disorder. In fact, they own and cherish the disorder

I have said before that public transport should be the responsibility of the government as is the case in Europe.
The man who marries a beautiful woman, and the farmer who grows corn by the roadside have the same problem

Sonko is part of the problem. Any attempt to remove hawkers along the railway is always met with his gusto, drama and innuendos ...BK

Sonko actually has a point (though i still think the driver is to blame), why didn't they put barriers, that intersection is usually very busy and the train passes almost regularly. Ebu enda hapo mchana or a few minutes before the train gets there, you'll still find people selling their goods almost on the rails.

But, if it is true that there are some drivers & sellers who, without the seemingly important barriers, leave space for the train to pass why not this particular driver and other sellers who just has to have barriers to let the train pass?
