@murchr, If one is driving the Mark X with max speed of 200km/h and another person is driving a Forester whose max speed is 180km/h,which of the two needs "keeping" up?

When MS was with Ferrari,all other car constructors took second spot. Come Vettel and Infiniti [Redbull Team] becomes the new king.

At some level, its more about the driver than the car.

The top speed is generally a fallacy and may not be practical on our roads, car speeds are measured by their ability to accelerate i.e time it takes to move from 0-60 KPH. Thats why you see all those prado's outpacing the much talked about Subs etc. Therefore, a car with a maximum speed of 180 KPH will outpace its counterpart that has maximum 200KPH coz of acceleration.

@Obi, What you've said is true to the extend of urban drive ,a short distance and a road with a lot of acceleration and deccelaration situations. In such a case,the car with better accelaration takes the crown.

However, if you are driving from Nai to Namanga/Msa/Eld,the car with higher max speed takes it.

From experience,i've been left biting dust 7 times. I would think am fast driver [please note;not the fastest], speeds of above 165km/h for long hauls.

On one such occassion,from Namanga doing between 170-180km/h, i was overtaken by a Land Cruiser Vx and it disappeared. Even at 180km/h, the Vx kept stretching away at alarming rate.

@Obi,I believe the Vx was doing over 220km/h and my max speed was 180km/h.
Do you still believe max speed is still a fallacy?

@Mkeiyd. you didn't metion what you drive, but lets all agree that a VX is out of this world in terms of speed, performance, balance consumption etc. It will outperform most of the cars on the roads.
