funny that thing was brought down at night and the whole structure was still intact by morning - I have seen scrap metal dealers yank out metal from concrete.

sad to imagine that some guy somewhere gave the orders to have the thing cut down, and nothing will happen to them, even after all the inconvenience caused.

The Kidero slap would come in handy in such a situation.

KeNHA apologises over traffic snarl-up on Waiyaki Way. FULL STATEMENT: Removal of Illegal Billboard Structure Along Waiyaki Way The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all motorists and road users, who have been affected by the process of removing an illegal billboard structure constructed on its road reserve along Waiyaki Way. KeNHA had envisaged that the removal of the illegal structure would be completed before dawn and had alerted the traffic police department to help control traffic, but the operation stretched beyond the anticipated timeframe. This was attributed to extremely heavy metal gauge of the structure, than had been anticipated. KeNHA was acting in good faith in trying to protect public property, a function which is within its mandate. We have since reinforced our groundteam in trying to clear the site urgently, and traffic flow should be back to normal within an hour. CHARLES NJOGU

It would be better to have the owners of the structure pull it down - at least they knew how they set it up.
