sounds fishy...

The lady is a govt employee (a chief). Surely if you were kidnapped, your employer would try and do something about it.

A week? and these buggers make calls and our police and CID cannot trace them.. Seriously?!

Dont be suprised when its reported that they used unregistered SIMs or fake IDs to register. If not then triangulating those calls should have happened by now.
If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

NGO'S don't. Ask fellows working in north eastern. Giving in to ransom demands helps to encourage repeats.

Anyway I am asking the same question leona is asking.
Somebody is warming seat.

@Kysse governments and NGOs do pay ransom.

I know a case where the NGO's policy is to never pay ransom for its staff because the more ransom is paid,the more the incidents occur. It's staff who help raise the amounts.

more from source;
One of the known paradoxes of K&R policies is that those who have them are often not aware, as it can be provided by an employer hoping to protect the company's assets.
It is believed that an employee with knowledge of his K&R policy might begin to act differently, or even collude in his own kidnap for fraudulent purposes.

The major factors insurance underwriters weigh when considering a kidnap and ransom policy include the country of residence for the insured, the type of industry of the insured, revenue of the insured, and the travel patterns of any employees who may be covered by the policy.

Who knows if chiefs are covered?

tracking mobile phones just gives a general location where the call is being connected - I reckon they track the base station connecting the call - other than that they can't pin point the exact location, they would need some sort of gps mechanism to do that.

And why can't they just do that? It's a chief, a goverment staff.

I don't think chiefs are tagged with gps devices - it becomes even difficult if the sim cards are unregistered or if they are new.

most kidnap are solved when the kidnappers go to collect the cash, thats the kidnappers weakest link since they have to collect the cash and somehow they have to show up.
