What did Jesus really look like?

Jesus image was a typical struggling Palestine carpenter. Kind of a radical not really because of being messenger , prophet or son of god. Rather his difficult and challenging status in society. Also a nationalistic patriotic Jew believing in superiority of his race to reign and rule beyond. The one thing I like about him he didn't worship imported religions instead he exported. Jesus was not a Christian. work to prosper

I recall watching a movie in which Satan tried to tempt Jesus in the wilderness while dressed in a business suit and tie while carrying a briefcase. Yaani in the middle of the wilderness. For me, that was one of the most powerful scenes I've ever watched in any motion picture.

To this I pay my respects to the 'Ja Lejo' for their handsome Melchior Ondeto. But sigh at the long journey to freedom that lies ahead of us. @Tycho, I think the message of Christ would get better penetration in Africa if we could relate with him graphically. Christianity in Africa is shallow yet wide... perhaps because we psychologically associate Christ with the goodies granting white faced donors. we then focus on what he can do for us and not what his message is. Believe me when I say this... the message of Christ is lost! we rarely read his words but rather we cherry pick the scriptures to find tasty morsels to feed unwitting followers. this is my message - CAN WE FOCUS ON CHRIST? CAN WE LISTEN TO HIS WORDS AS SPOKEN? therein lies the foundation of our faith. the church at antioch was called the "christian" church for a being like christ. Christ centeredness should be our mantra. Just for fun... when praying how do you visualize God? you are talking to someone right? 100% man ans 100% God... how does he look like in your mind? It will be a bit of a struggle visualizing him as realistically depicted but for me - that is the way forward. One then should visualize his/her favorite teacher, even from primary school, who always says, 'you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free'. So the main thing to visualize, is the knowledge; the sea beyond fermions and leptons. Swimming in the mind's sea. And if the mind has a body, then it's the bodies we have. My face, your face.

For we often hear that Satan is the prince of darkness. That is, the bearer of light, is also the prince of darkness. I don't see why we Africans are so stuck on 'dogma' when we can think and choose for ourselves, through knowledge. So far, we have nothing to give to 'our children'.

Green, yellow blue ,momo, thin, what he did is what matters. If the arabs believe he was arab for them to accept Him then arab he is. If the sudanese believe that he came from there then he becomes one of them And if some believe that he faced the mountain and ate ngwacis then mountainious he is.
After all he is Omnipresent.

There is more learning from the TVs and movies than there is from books. I've always wondered why we don't incorporate them into our education systems. The west are into them big time. Something that has helped fuel the net. UMK has a great idea in a laptop a child. Imagine a generation of kids learning life/investments et al from Wazua. I digress. One of the most beautiful sermons I ever heard, and shared on Wazua, was zooming in on God Himself. Not His 'goodies', or what you can get out of Him, but on His greatness. I remember in one of our doctrinal classes we had a lesson on how God 'looks like'. Take an example of Wazua. My chatting is different to those I've personally met than from those I haven't. Why? Because I can place them. Your telephone conversations are different between persons you've met and/or know, than from complete strangers. Just as it is important to 'visualize' God to have a great relationship, so it is in prayer. Why do we close our eyes when praying? To 'see' Him! Imagine if you can picture Jesus Christ!!! Won't you 'talk' to Him as you do your pals, siblings etc... ofcourse with respect? You ask an important question... Here's my perspective. Jesus Christ came down to earth in the form of man. Context, something that is sometimes unfortunately looked-over, is very important. The true meaning behind the Word. He came like you and me. When I close my eyes, I 'see' someone ordinary. Someone like you and me.
