"To conduct burial on one’s soil, the bereaved will have to fork out Sh4,500 if the dead is an adult, Sh3,000 for a child and Sh2,500 for an infant."

d'oh!

"Farmers have not been spared either as they will be charged Sh4,000 for every cow, pig, donkey or horse that dies on their land before the county government can collect the carcasses for disposal."

d'oh!

"In an even more bizarre proposal, county government officials — to be known as ward administrators — will charge every household a fee for slaughtering livestock with chicken attracting the lowest levy (Sh20), a goat Sh150 and a cow Sh400"

d'oh!
Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.

HA HA HAA...

So "Business premises that put up Christmas decorations will pay an additional Sh2,000 to cover the duration of the festivities."

And then this
"A business or any other organisation with a signboard showing directions to their premises will also be required to pay Sh5,000 for each sign per year"

Churches, mosques, Cattle dips, drinking dens......

All these to raise funds for 100M for the "Governor's Office" and other extravagances!

Please if you have to die, arrange not to die in Kiambu county. Die in cheap and hospitable counties like Makueni and Machakos. There are taxes being slapped on every dead body...Who comes from there to shed more light...@Bigchick!...Some things can only come from people who have eaten every type of leaf in the forest!!!

Choices have consequences.

The kind of leaders we elect... How shallow can they go, ati slaughtering a chicken warrants a charge of Kshs 20. Hawawezi fikiria njia legit ya kuraise revenue nkt, no wonder what they do best is pharmacy.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.... Leo Buscaglia

@digitek1 ahahah. But surely, death on its own is enough torment to the berieved, the county should be contributing to the family to cover any last expense!!!

And for the businesses, isn't the license fee paid yearly covers any other business licensed to carried out in that premise! If they have an issue with animal waste from slaughter, they should contact health.

as for other organizations like Masjids, churches etc... that makes sense.
