Same was said about number portability. No event risk this one. The distribution network is all that matters.

This is a different ball game....I read through the draft regulations & I tend to think theyre a game changer...if i can send money from my airtel line to a SCOM line then the recipient withdraws cash from any agent (SCOM...Airtel)..then I dont need two lines...Mobile number portability was killed by double SIM cards & peoples reluctance to go through the process...

Now if the Mpesa platform becomesl like SWIFT...then SCOM is in trouble...

Some people only have a SCOM line because of Mpesa...


its only one SIM after all...data...voice...mpesa revenues in one LOL

SCOM has been moving heavy volumes offlate...a big guy has been dumping.

My read of it is that CBK is trying to reduce of over-dependency on safcom. And create opportunities even for banks
